FAQS

Does the foam hold any amount of water ?

The foam does not hold any water, and therefore it can’t become over-saturated, however, it does require consistent watering. We recommend that it be irrigated for a few minutes then off a few hours and then back on, local conditions will dictate the watering regime.

How about soil, does it fall out during watering ( or is it even needed )?

Initially some soil will fall out right after planting, we recommend washing the wall lightly to remove any soil that is not held in place by the foam, the plants will root into the foam over time. You do not need to wash the roots prior to planting.

How often is watering necessary?

The Greenwall will need to be watered daily. In my office I water it for 5 minutes every 4 hours during office hours, just so it is watering while I’m here.  I also recirculate our water. If I were dumping my overflow water I would water for short durations several times a day, this of course is dependent on the size of emitters used in the drip irrigation system.

If a wall is in a Greenhouse, should it be watered by hose or is the irrigation system on a timer ?

Must be watered via an irrigation system.

How does it attach to a metal wall ?

It attaches to the wall via a J-Hook which can either be bolted, screwed or welded into place.

Do you supervise installation?

Yes I can supervise an installation. This work would be done on a hourly fee basis, plus expenses.  I can also assist in the design work.   If you send me drawings of the wall I will be happy to provide you with design drawings to assist your installation efforts.
